Samsung’s Galaxy A series has long been the brand’s answer to a simple question: how do you put flagship-quality thinking into a phone that more people can actually afford? With the Galaxy A57 5G and Galaxy A37 5G now available in Australia, the answer includes AI-powered photography, six years of software support, IP68 durability, and a camera system built to handle everything from group shots to low-light moments starting at $599.

Samsung calls the AI layer on these devices Awesome Intelligence, and on the A57 5G and A37 5G it arrives with several meaningful additions over the previous generation.

Voice Transcription is new to the Voice Recorder app, making it easier to revisit important details from meetings, lectures, or calls by quickly transcribing and translating recordings or turning voicemail audio into searchable text.

AI Select is now easier to access with a long press on the Edge Panel, surfacing relevant actions directly on screen to extract text or create content. It also supports Drag and Drop in Multi-Window layouts, allowing users to move images directly into Samsung Notes or the Photo Editor for faster editing.

For photography, Object Eraser now delivers more natural results when removing unwanted background elements, while on the A57 5G specifically, Best Face supports more photos and continuous shooting, making it easier to capture group shots where everyone looks their best. Auto Trim also makes video editing simpler on the A57 5G.

Circle to Search with Google adds multi-object recognition, so users can explore multiple items in an image simultaneously from an outfit to surrounding accessories all within a single search.

Both devices support Bixby for natural language device control and Gemini for navigating complex tasks across Samsung’s native apps and select third-party applications.

The A57 5G and A37 5G feature a versatile triple-camera system led by a 50MP main sensor, delivering sharp, detailed images across a wide range of lighting conditions without requiring manual adjustments.

Nightography ensures the camera adapts when the lights go down, capturing clear and true-to-life photos and videos in low light. The A57 5G takes this further with enhanced image processing that sharpens detail and reduces noise, delivers rich contrast and balanced colour in challenging light, and uses a fast shutter speed to instantly capture fleeting moments with improved clarity.

An ultra-wide lens captures more in every group photo or landscape, while the 5MP macro camera reveals fine details up close for additional creative flexibility.

Performance and Battery

The Galaxy A57 5G features a 5,000mAh battery supporting up to two days of use, powering everything from filming and editing to on-the-go viewing. Super Fast Charging 2.0 allows for a quick top-up before heading out, while a larger vapour chamber helps sustain performance during extended gaming or recording sessions.

Slimmer bezels and a bright Super AMOLED+ display on the A57 5G, combined with Vision Booster, deliver an immersive viewing experience both indoors and in direct sunlight.

Built to Last Inside and Out

Both devices are tested against IP68 standards for water and dust resistance, and Samsung is committing to up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades alongside up to six years of security updates giving users the confidence to rely on their device for years to come.

Knox Vault provides hardware-based security, while Privacy Alerts proactively notify users about potential risks, offering clearer insight and control over location permissions or suspicious monitoring of sensitive data. A new Private Album feature in the Gallery app allows users to lock away personal media quickly and easily.

For families, both devices include the same robust parental controls found on Samsung’s flagship phones, along with Samsung Kids a child-friendly mode accessible from the Quick Settings panel that offers educational activities, games, and age-appropriate content.

Galaxy A57 5G is available in Awesome Navy and Awesome Lilac, priced at $749 for 128GB and $849 for 256GB. Galaxy A37 5G comes in Awesome Lavender and Awesome Charcoal, starting at $599 for 128GB.
