The Zamfara State government rolled out eight new Zamfara firefighting trucks yesterday, handing them to local government areas to strengthen the state’s emergency response network. The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Lawal Barau Bungudu, could not attend the handover himself. Instead, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Engr. Amiru Musa Anka, represented him and formally accepted the eight vehicles. The Secretary to the State Government handed over the trucks, which will now move on to local fire service stations for daily use.
