An APGA Reps candidate in Anambra State has picked up unexpected support from rival camps ahead of the 2027 general elections. Chief Chukwudi Oli, who is running under the All Progressives Grand Alliance for the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency, now enjoys backing from members of the Peoples Democratic Party, the All Progressives Congress, and the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
The cross-party endorsement emerged from a consultative meeting between the group and the APGA campaign organisation. Stakeholders gathered at Abagana in Njikoka Local Government Area to formalize their decision, and the mood in the room reportedly stayed warm throughout.
Who Showed Up for the APGA Reps Candidate Meeting
Several notable figures attended the gathering. Hon. George Ozor, Director-General of the campaign organisation and a former chairman of Njikoka Local Government Area, led proceedings alongside Oli himself. Also present were Chief Onyenechi Ezeaso, described as APGA Chairman in Njikoka LGA; retired Air Vice Marshal Ben Chiobi; Chief Chibuzo Oli; and Chief Ogochukwu Egolum, among other party stakeholders.
Speaking for the coalition, group leader Ozo Ejiamatu explained why members chose to rally behind Oli. He noted that although the group’s members belong to different parties, they united around one shared belief: that Oli would deliver effective representation for their communities.
“We are convinced that by supporting you, we are working for ourselves,” Ejiamatu said. He added that the group trusts Oli to prioritize progress across the Dunukofia/Njikoka/Anaocha Federal Constituency once elected.
Anambra Coalition Wants to Block “Selfish Politicians”
Beyond simple endorsement, the group voiced a broader concern. Members said they’re determined to stop what they called “selfish politicians” from returning to office. According to the coalition, the constituency has suffered from weak representation for too long, and this endorsement reflects their pushback against that trend.
Still, the stakeholders were careful to draw a line. They clarified that their group isn’t an APGA political body, and their support applies strictly to Oli’s candidacy. In other words, backing Oli doesn’t translate into blanket support for every APGA candidate on the ballot.
Oli responded warmly to the vote of confidence. He thanked the coalition and promised not to let them down if elected. According to him, his political approach rests on four pillars: accountability, transparency, unity, and service to the people. He also assured constituents that their welfare would come before his personal interests.
Notably, Oli pointed to his mentor, businessman and philanthropist Prince Arthur Eze, as a source of inspiration. He pledged to channel that same spirit into attracting development and improving daily life for residents once he takes office.
Campaign Leaders React to the Boost
Hon. George Ozor and Hon. Chinedu Anakwe, who also serves as APGA Chairman in Njikoka LGA, both praised the coalition for its show of support. Ozor called the endorsement a major morale booster for the campaign team.
Furthermore, Ozor expressed confidence that this cross-party backing would strengthen APGA’s position heading into what he predicts will be one of Anambra’s most fiercely contested House of Representatives races. Given the political landscape shaping up across Nigeria’s southeast region ahead of 2027, that prediction doesn’t seem far-fetched.
As things stand, the endorsement adds fresh momentum to Oli’s campaign at a crucial early stage.
